The story thus far doesn't change it, it make them feel SUPER sinister. plus at least one of Rocky's People displays a church pendent around their neck. A large percentage of the town actually seems to be active members of the Church, To "Pastors" Burgess, Pen, Dan-bi. so the Head of the Church just took over, stuck her people in charge of city departments, brought in their own muscle, and are enforcing rules that should be the job of the Civil Corps. You are stuck with a Story where rather than building the town and bringing people back you are left with a town that is Missing it's Mayor. More than that many of the characters feel down right sinister. Though Heidi and Rocky can fit in there too. Sandrock is just Justice, Mi-an, Elsie, Owen, Hugo, and Vivi are the only ones that don't seem off. Ginger, Gust, Albert, Martha, Arlo, Alice, Sam, Remington, Django, Mei, Issac, the Hulu Brothers etc. Sandrock has Qi and Portia as Petra and Merlin giving nuance to the quirky smart person. The whole town is well rounded and lovely. After that you have Emily, Sophie, McD, Lucy, Petra, Carol and Mars, etc. In Portia you have the scheming Mayor, Higgins, a "valley girl waitress, and a fisherman who looks like he shouldn't be near the school and, then brothers that all look a like. I don't know what they are they are just weird. Catori a Deadbeat parent, Rian and Dan-bi who seem to be.

Arvio who is always happy to scam his way through.

Qi who is awkward and is a negative stereotype. In Sandrock you have Yan who is slimey, you have Cooper who is a stereotype, Pen who is out of place and creepy, Miguel who is down right Sinister, Fang who is wtf, Burgess that feels like a Authoritarian snitch.

Minus Higgins the whole town is full of generally nice people (With 1.5 notable exceptions) The people are friendly and are primarily likeable. Portia is a beautiful quaint little down. There seems to be three major issues, Pacing, Character Development, and Story.įirst Character Development. This is maybe late to the game but what the heck is with the storytelling in Sandrock?
